Ed. Alliance hosts session on evaluations
On Jan. 24, the Education Alliance of Michigan is hosting "Michigan Education Evaluation: Understanding Effective Instruction--Why Waiting Is Not an Option" at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, 55 South Harrison in East Lansing.
The goal of the session is to develop a shared understanding of the complex elements involved in reviewing effective classroom instruction. Hands-on activities and discussion will be the focus with skilled teachers and piloting districts sharing their work.
Leading researcher, Stephen Fink from the University of Washington will explore research-based methods for assessing performance. In his current work with the Center for Educational Leadership, Dr. Fink is developing school leadership capacity to dramatically improve the quality of instruction in schools and classrooms.
