Enrollment open for E-Dues
The Legislature passed Public Act 53 in March to end the payroll deduction of dues by school districts, which critics say was a cynical move designed to weaken the MEA’s ability to advocate for its members' wages, benefits and working conditions.
A temporary injunction was ordered to stop the law, but MEA members should still make the switch to the E-Dues system to continue receiving the many benefits of MEA membership.
Note: Converting to E-Dues is done by entire local associations, not by individuals. While signing up for E-Dues online will save you time, your dues will continue to be deducted from your paycheck until your entire local is ready to convert.
