Read Across America Resources

  • At www.nea.org/readacross, you will find everything you need to mark your Dr. Seuss celebration. In addition to certificates, bookmarks and posters, you'll also find lesson plans, news releases to advertise your event and ways to involve parents.
  • Adolescent Literacy has a variety of teen resources at www.AdLit.org.
  • Check out www.readwritethink.org for lesson plans and ideas suggested by the National Council of Teachers of English, the International Reading Association and Thinkfinity.
  • Bookshare is the world’s largest accessible digital library for persons with learning disabilities. Parents and teachers can sign children up at www.bookshare.org/signUpType for free access to the library.
  • First Book provides new books to children in need. Its marketplace is an online store offering new books at drastically reduced prices. Go to www.fbmarketplace.org to check out all of books available.
