MEA/MIRS/Fox 2/ To Sponsor “Michigan Leadership Forum" Friday

(LANSING, MI) Michigan’s economy continues to struggle amid questions about the survival of the Big Three auto manufacturers. To help explore these issues the Michigan Education Association, along with WJBK Fox 2 News and Michigan’s leading daily political news source, Michigan Information & Research Service Inc. (MIRS), is pleased to sponsor a Michigan Leadership Forum to allow a dialogue among those who are considering running for Michigan governor in 2010. This dialogue comes three days after Gov. Jennifer Granholm’s State of the State Address.

“Now, more than ever, Michigan’s leaders must begin in earnest the dialogue that will help carry our state forward to economic and education solutions for all,” said Ed Sarpolus, director of government affairs for MEA.

Hosted at the Detroit Marriott, “The Michigan Leadership Forum” will be moderated by Senior Capitol Correspondent and Off The Record host Tim Skubick and will focus on the state’s economy, education and health care. The Forum, which will take place Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, before 500 to 700 Michigan Education Association members, begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Ambassador Room of the Detroit Marriott.

The event will be open to all members of the media.
