MEA statement on education reform bills
EAST LANSING, Mich., April 28, 2009- The Michigan Education Association is aware that there may be misconceptions circulating regarding an agreement between our association and Rep. Tim Melton on his school reform bills.
The following statement can be attributed to Ed Sarpolus, MEA Director of Government Affairs:
“While we have had made significant progress on reform legislation during several meetings with Rep. Melton and Speaker Andy Dillon, there is no formal agreement at this time. We are hopeful that continued talks will result in an agreement that benefits Michigan’s schools, its students and thousands of dedicated school employees.”
