Scholarship Fund golf outing tops $40,000 again

The MEA Scholarship Fund golf outing raised more than $40,000 for the third straight year in June.
This year’s outing, played at the Eldorado golf course near Mason, attracted a record field of 168 golfers and brought in $41,925 for the Scholarship Fund.
Money raised at the outings—now topping more than $200,000 in six years—helps the MEA Scholarship Fund provide annual college scholarships to Michigan public school students.
Winning teams in June’s sixth annual outing included:

Men’s—Bill Brunton, Darrin Clark, Jeff Cusmano and Bob Sandercock.

Women’s—Carolyn Cortright, Pat Richey, Beverly Wolkow and Mary Anne Adams.

Mixed—Ruth Augustine, Linda Myers, Cole Tyrell and Matt Fritz.
The President’s Award was presented by MEA President Iris Salters to retired UniServ director Karilyn Frederick for her outstanding contributions to the golf outing for the past five years.
