State Ballot Proposals
Proposal 2: Vote NO.
The deceptive, misnamed “Michigan Civil Rights Initiative” threatens our civil rights and would turn back the clock on progress made by minorities and women and thousands of Michigan families in the past half century. At a time when we need more college graduates to strengthen our economy, this anti-affirmative action initiative would prohibit college scholarships and financial aid aimed at women and minorities. Proposal 5: Vote YES.
The Educational Funding Guarantee will provide inflation increases for public education—the funding necessary to give our students the opportunity to succeed. This investment in K-12 public schools and institutions of higher education is critical to Michigan’s economic future and the future of our students. Check out www.michigank16.org.
