As employees or retirees of a public school district or institution of higher learning, you’re an expert in the ways that tax policy, economic development and funding impact students.
What do the students you serve need to succeed? Do they have it? If not, chances are good that it’s because of unfair taxes, unproven or poor economic development strategies, and inadequate funding.
To ensure equal educational and economic opportunity for all, we need to do three things:
- Make taxes fair
- Level the playing field for business
- Fund schools adequately.
