Spring RA delegates to adopt budget,
elect NEA directors
The 2007-08 MEA budget will be up for review and adoption by delegates to the Spring Representative Assembly in Lansing on April 27-28.
Delegates also will elect three NEA directors at the RA.
During the budget discussion, delegates will approve a percentage used to calculate 2007-08 member dues and a maximum amount for dues.
MEA implemented the percentage dues
system for the first time this school year,

dues would be assessed at 1.5 percent of
their 2005-06 bargained wages. The maximum
amount charged any member was
set at $620.

Three incumbent NEA Board members
are unopposed for re-election to three-year
terms—Ana Sanchez from Pontiac,
Lynn Mason from Belding and Donna
Anderson from Hartland.
Nominations for these positions also can be made from the floor at the RA.
