Parents have through Wednesday to complete an opinion survey on a new “school transparency dashboard” under development by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) to replace the old school scorecards.
The new dashboard would provide information to parents and caregivers on every school building in the state, including charters. More than 20 different factors or measures of school quality will be reported in the dashboard.
MDE is gathering feedback through an online survey that takes less than 15 minutes to complete. The survey allows users to view portions of the dashboard and choose the best ways to present information to help parents and communities understand school performance.
The survey will be open through Nov. 15—so take the survey today. Then share this information with parents who want to see a broader portrait of school performance included in school accountability.
